"Personal Effects" Trailer... not ONLINE
February 28, 2008

The early trailer of Personal Effects has been soonly removed from the YouTube web. I guess the production company contacted with the user who upload it to remove. Such us I told on this section, I contacted with the company and they anwered me that this video is actually a promo trailer and it's not supposed to be out there, it's only for the buyers of the film.

Michelle Pfeiffer & Ashton Kutcher in Personal Effects

Also they told me that there isn't US release date yet and they're just in post, dealing with editing the film.

For you all who didn't watch the video, there are other sites where the video has been uploaded, although I don't know whether they will be removed through the company's request.

"Personal Effects" Trailer... ONLINE!!

Personal Effects

According the production company the there isn't US release date yet. This video is actually a promo trailer and it's not supposed to be out there, it's only for the buyers of the film. They're just in post, dealing with editing the film.

Anyway, these very first footage of the movie is great to watch! I think it can be a cute movie, and of course, Michelle Pfeiffer... beautiful [look at the image of her dancing into the blue dress... Scarface? ehheeh]

Michelle Pfeiffer shooted by the greatest photographers in Eighties: helmut Newton & George Hurrel
February 25, 2008

All the regular visitors of this site should know my obsession to order every picture into every gallery with its own date, photographer, magazine... etc.

Michelle Pfeiffer by Helmut Newton - April 1994Well, many pictures are very difficult to classify, many times I use get them but I don't know the photographer or the magazine or the date, so the most of times I have to observe her hair, her face or even her clothes to guess the rest of the details and I know that the most of those times I can mistake.

So because it, I feel so glad now, finally I've known the details of one of the oddest (to me) photoshoot-sessions made with Michelle Pfeiffer and besides by one leyend in the photography world: Helmut Newton.

My amazing discovery of this weekend:

Looking for info about the work of Michelle and Helmut together I've found in an interview that appeared in the Los Angeles Reader in 1985 by Tom Christie where he tells "Newton and I spoke in the Chateau Marmont suite he occupies with his wife, June (a.k.a. photographer Alice Springs), following a long photo session for Vanity Fair with actress Michelle Pfeiffer and renowned Hollywood photographer George Hurrell," so now all facts is in order:

The picture above-right (which I've got this weekend and trigger of this news) is the main image done for Vanity, for an article titled "Blonde Ambition" written by Dominick Dunne about the new blonde hopefuls and with pictures of Helmut Newton to Michelle Pfeiffer (as main actress -and first picture and sit beside Richard Donner- in the article), Kim Basinger, Daryl Hannah and Kelly Collins... but the most surprising to me is that the article is dated in April of 1984 (!!), let's remember that Scarface had been released in December of 1983 and Into The Night and Ladyhawke weren't released until Abril of 1985... and in that time Michelle was already there!...

Michelle Pfeiffer by Helmut Newton & George Hurrel

So then these three pics are from the same collection: The pic for Vanity Fair (top), the pic by Newton with Michelle 20s/30s-Style, the pic of Michelle posing with George Hurrell (one of the most important photographers and who shooted all the Hollywood Leyends) for Newton and the pic by Hurrell around that date... so my search is finally completed.

Michelle Pfeiffer's Evita is finally disclosed
February 22, 2008

Michelle Pfeiffer vs EvitaOne of those treasures which the most of pfans have been waiting to see or hear is finally online, publicly for everyone. It is two demo-tracks for Evita movie recorded by Michelle around 1994, (at the moment you can hear here the song "I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You"), Michelle attempts to sing the songs in the original keys here. According Tim -Xvaesthirxv- making a comparison with Madonna's version, Madonna's did ton of post to her voice. Like slight echo effects, making some parts louder than others. Basically, she and Michelle have the same amount of range, so between the two of them, voice wise, they are even.

If they did that post work to Pfeiffer's voice she would've been great too. Madonna didn't try singing the end either. Michelle would've pulled off that movie quite well. According Tim, her voice sounds very nice. Her voice just sounds so sweet, like Julie Andrews.

Let's remember Michelle Pfeiffer was the winner of this valuable part but she turned down... after many of the greatest actresses fighted for this role. Michelle actually worked for months on Evita but dropped out when director Oliver Stone withdrew and the production was moved from LA, Finally Madonna was the heiress.

I hope you like this video made by me where you can hear the song recorded by Michelle:

EvitaThe genesis of the project of Evita begun many years before it were finally released. Ken Russell was the first director attached. His first choice to play Eva was Barbra Streisand, who turned him down. His second choice was Liza Minnelli, who he screen-tested, but her casting was vetoed by lyricist Tim Rice, who wanted Elaine Paige, who had originated the stage role in London. Paige was also Rice's girlfriend.

Other big names such us Meryl Streep, Pia Zadora, Charo and Maria Conchita Alonso were considered for the role of Evita for years.

Finally Oliver Stone planed to make the movie around early Nineties, in 1994 it was announced that Michelle Pfeiffer would be Evita, she even had taken a good few months voice training for the role, but after several disagreements of Stone with Argentinian President Carlos Menem , in summer of 1994 he abandoned the project —he received a token credit as a writer for this film, despite having made no input to the script—.

According Michelle, "I really wanted to do Evita with Oliver Stone. To me, that was a really exciting project, especially after how visually exciting The Doors was. When they came to me, I was hugely pregnant and said, "I'd love to do this but I don't know that I really have the chops." I was unwilling to commit until I went through a lot of voice training for a long time. I did demos, too. Ultimately, when I found out the shooting schedule and that it would be in England, I realized it would mean breaking up the family unit. I would obviously have a newborn and didn't want to take the kids from their father for such a long time. It's only OK to do that in short little sprints."

Alan Parker & MadonnaThen in December of 1994 it was announced that Alan Parker (who previouly had filmed Fame and Pink Floyd The Wall) would be the definitive director to film the movie.

Madonna was cast after she wrote a long and desperate letter to director convincing him she was perfect to play the role. The letter was accompanied by a copy of her video for "Take A Bow" where she had specifically asked the director that it should resemble the '40s and '50s.

According Madonna: "First I was chosen by Oliver Stone for the role, but we had creative differences and the project fizzled out. When Stone went to Argentina, there was some unpleasantness and President Menem's government stopped helping him. Now Parker's reaping what Stone sowed and he has to placate and persuade the government that this project is serious and that he's not trying to twist Argentina's history

When I found out that Alan Parker was working on a project and that Michelle Pfeiffer would be playing Eva, I got very nervy and I heard a voice inside me saying: Madonna, you've got to do it.

Madonna as EvitaI don't know if God took a hand or what happened, but I soon heard that Michelle wasn't interested because she'd had a baby. So then, one night, I sat down and wrote a letter to Alan Parker. It was like an inspiration from God. I couldn't control what I was writing, I didn't know what I was doing, but I sent it all the same. In it I used all the arguments I could to convince him that I wanted to do Evita. It's not about money, just simple fascination"

For Michelle: "I actually liked the version that Madonna did, which was different from what Oliver had in mind, and I thought she did a great job."

Sadly, Michelle did never this movie, for me, it was one of my dreams never come true...

Maybe, this part had could be the role of all a life... maybe it doesn't...

I Could Never be Your Woman on Dvd today... :-(
February 12, 2008

Finally the day is here... I Could Never Be Your Woman is already on US Dvd Stores ... sad, but true. This has been the sad end of a -for me- light and funny movie which has been travelling around our minds during the last three years.

I'd like to invite you to watch this nice music-video made by a pfan with beautiful footage of the movie and titled "One In A Million"... better than a trailer. I think it is the best way to promote this waited movie. Thanks Xxheavenlycreaturexx for this nice work.

Thanks pfan_1974 for sending us the video.

Besides you also can see this beautiful video sent by our ABigPfan!: "She Does" -with music of Locksley- (you can watch clicking the image.)

Michelle Pfeiffer already in negotiations to star Cheri
February 11, 2008

It finally seems the project of Cheri is next to come true, Variety published yesterday the waited news: Michelle Pfeiffer is finally in negotiations to star in the movie:

Miramax and Pathe are near deals to partner in "Cheri," an adaptation of the 1920s novel by French author Colette about the lingering effects of a romance between a middle-aged woman and a wealthy young man.

In what shapes up as a "Dangerous Liaisons" re-team, Christopher Hampton wrote the script, Stephen Frears will direct and Michelle Pfeiffer is negotiating to star.

Miramax is said to be wrapping up a deal to control North American rights for a commitment near $7.5 million. Pathe will control overseas territories, mirroring the arrangement the two companies had on the last Frears-directed film, "The Queen."

The film will be produced by Bill Kenwright and Reliant Pictures topper Thom Mount.

Michelle Pfeiffer could play Lea in Cheri

Kenwright, the U.K.-based theater impresario and owner of the Premier League soccer team Everton, spent seven years with Hampton working on the adaptation. Even though Hampton has heat from an Oscar nomination on "Atonement," piecing together the movie for an April production start in France and London was a real challenge over the past week.

Miramax bid against several other specialty shingles last week, but just when it appeared the Disney-owned company was ready to close a deal, talks broke off because Miramax wanted Pathe as its partner. Talks have been ongoing all week to make that happen, and the deals appeared close last night, with Pfeiffer in the final stages of negotiationi.

Colette set her book in 1920s Paris, where the young son of a wealthy courtesan is educated in the ways of love by a middle-aged friend of the man's mother. When he is forced to give up the six-year relationship after marrying someone else, the young man can't forget her and retreats into a fantasy world.

the tale of 'I Could Never Be Your Woman': the sad end for a lovely movie
February 5, 2008

Finally and after two years of silence, all unknown around I Could Never Be Your Woman have been clarify. Now, when the movie will be released straight on DVD the next February 12 (coinciding with Valentine's Day -Feb 14-), Entertainment Weekly has plublished this week a waited article which explains every detail of the travel of the movie since the end of the filming.

It is announced even on the front cover as little blip: Michelle Pfeiffer movie going straight to DVD.

The story of the facts are truely sad, and now, when the movie has been sold for DVD (Weinstein Company will launch it), many distributors have been interested to release it in cinema, but of course, it is too late now! The article talks about poor management by the studio and head exec that led to salary cuts and slandering of Pfeiffer. Quite a sordid tale.

Shame on Bauer Martinez...

The racial mix of Michelle Pfeiffer
February 2, 2008

Michelle Pfeiffer and her racial mixMichelle Pfeiffer has credited her international legacy for her multi-faceted personality.

The actress, who claims that her ancestors originated from all over the world, has dubbed herself a "racial mutt" according ContactMusic.com.

"Racially, I'm a mutt. My father was Dutch, Irish and German, and my mother is Swiss and Swede - so many things I can't keep track, I have a real Irish temper. I'm very organised like the Germans, and I also have the thing that people say Swedes have - of looking like
they're keeping a secret. Have you ever heard of that? I've been accused of it,
" she added.
