'Personal Effects' Locations:
From pittsburgh to Vancouver November 23, 2007
According
Rob Owen, Post-Gazette
TV editor: Mt. Lebanon native David
Hollander will film 'Pittsburgh-like' movie in
Vancouver:
The new project of Michelle Pfeiffer,
which will beging the filming next week (November 26)
"Personal
Effects," has been in gestation for
at least three years, the movie will be starred by Kathy
Bates and Ashton Kutcher.
In 2004, Hollander said he hoped to film "Effects"
in Pittsburgh, but in an e-mail this week he said even
though it would be cheaper to make the movie locally
due to currency fluctuations, the film's cast and financiers
demanded it film on the West Coast: Vancouver.
Hollander said the movie's setting is "Pittsburgh-like.
... Pittsburgh inspired, if you will." Dawn
Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office,
said no one from the production made inquiries about
filming locally.
The script, written by Hollander, was inspired by the
Rick Moody short story
"The Mansion on the Hill."
Documentary: life & Career
of Michelle November 22, 2007
Although it isn't an actual
video, I think it it really interesting to watch. The
video is a documentary about Michelle, "The
Movie Show", broadcasted on Spanish Satellite
Channel some years ago, with interviews and footage
of her movies and the filming set. The video is in Spanish,
but the most part of it is mede by interviews with Michelle
in several moments on her life, in English and Subtitled
in Spanish. So it can be seen for everybody.
You can see Michelle in an interview (I guess during
the promotion of Married To The
Mob falling 1988) where she talks about her early
years in cinema, how she began on bussiness, the filming
of Ladyhawke... also an
wonderful interview (unknown by me) join Susan
Sarandon and Cher
for the promo of The
Witches Of Eastwick, that she thought when
she won't the Oscar for Love
Field, and many more which you have to see...
It is curious to see, because in the
interview for the promo of Married
To The Mob, she talks about the difficult to
find good parts for being beautiful... you know those
thoughts follow being said currently!! After 20 years!!
Finally official media echo on
"Personal Effects" November 19, 2007
Finally,
an important media such us Hollywood
Reporter talks about the new project of
Pfeiffer. it is thanks immersion of Kathy
Bates into the project. They reports:
Kathy Bates has joined
Michelle Pfeiffer and Ashton
Kutcher in the dramatic love story "Personal
Effects," which David
Hollander is directing for Insight
Studios. The movie, written by Hollander, sees
Kutcher as a young man seeking vengeance for the murder
of his sister, but when he arrives in town, he is sidetracked
by a beautiful older woman (Pfeiffer) with wounds very
similar to his own.
Bates is playing Kutcher's mother. Production is due
to start in Vancouver in November. Gil
Netter is producing along with Insight'sKirk Shaw, Tadora'sChristian Arnold-Beutel
and CineFilm'sTim
McGrath.
MichellE Pfeiffer's Son (in "Personal
Effects") wanted November 18, 2007
The
news has arrived to me from a blog, SpoilerTv.
And actually I don't know about how realiable it is.
It is about the new project of Pfeiffer-Kutcher,
Personal
Effects. It seems the information of the
features of the character who would play Michelle's
son, named Clay Pietrysk
on the movie, to look for and cast him. So the complete
name of Pfeiffer's character would be Linda Pietrysk.
Besides, you can know new details about the plot, and
facts about the characters. And here the news:
"Our sometime-narrator, he's a big, strong high
school aged teen (please suggest 15 years to young looking
18 years) who speaks perfectly clearly in narration,
but rarely talks on screen. He's deaf and uses sign
language to communicate with his mother Linda (Michelle
Pfeiffer). Calm, focused and introspective, but
"trapped in a world of silence," he sometimes
looks detached from what's happening to him. His father
was murdered a year ago, and Clay occasionally acts
out, bringing a gun to school and throwing rocks at
windows. However, when Walter (Ashton
Kutcher) intervenes and teaches Clay how to wrestle,
Clay proves himself a good student and fast learner.
..Ability to do sign language a plus. The young actor
playing this role will also need to learn how to wrestle.
We are looking for an extraordinary talent for this
role - someone with great emotional range - a deep thinker
who has power in stillness but can "explode"
with anger. We would love to audition deaf actors for
authenticity. Lead. "
Voltage launches the teaser of
'Personal Effects' project. November 14, 2007
Finally
(and too soon, I think) we can see a look of the teaser
image for tne new project of Michelle
Pfeiffer and Ashton Kutcher,
"Personal
Effects".
Actually it wouldn't be the teaser-poster of the movie,
of course... it is simply an art-work announcing the
project and its filming. Usually, when production companies
launch this kind of works use be just words or some
logo, no images of the casting.
For this one, they have taken an image of Michelle
at the Premiere
of Stardust in LA (July 29, 2007), I have
to say thay it isn't bad at all, althoug it isn't a
wonderful work too.
Now..., when the very first news about the project
appeared, I designed a little art work for the project...
Has it been able to do the production company hurry
up to launch this one?... I hope it isn't... but could
be PfeifferTheFace.com
as important as to achieve it?...
Only a thing more to say: the name of Ashton
Kutcher in front of Michelle
Pfeiffer's? hum... let's hope to see.
'Stardust' finally hited the overseas
box-office November 10, 2007
According
an article on the International Box-Office in Variety:
True to Paramount’s word, fantasy epic “Stardust”
has made up for its disappointing performance domestically
at the overseas box office.
Through Nov. 4, the film’s international cume
was $74.8 million — nearly double its North American
haul of $38.4 million, according to Rentrak. “Stardust,”
directed by Brit filmmaker Matthew
Vaughn, has been steadily climbing up the international
chart in recent weeks. For the Nov. 2-4 weekend, the
film came in No. 3, grossing $8.5 million from 2,626
runs in its 13th frame.
Par contended from the outset that “Stardust”
would be a strong international player because of its
whimsical storyline and ensemble cast: Charlie
Cox, Sienna Miller,
Robert De Niro, Peter
O’Toole, Michelle
Pfeiffer, Claire Danes
and Rupert Everett.
In the U.S., “Stardust”
opened to only $9 million in mid-August. At the time,
Paramount prexy of worldwide marketing and distribution
Rob Moore predicted the
film could ultimately do double its business overseas.
He was right. Paramount put up half the $75 million
production budget for “Stardust”;
Marv Films, Ingenious Films and the Melrose Fund paid
the rest. Movie was produced by Lorenzo
di Bonaventura.
Well, finally I feel glad for Stardust
afted the bad bad bad work by Paramount!! Michelle deserved
this success.
The "Good taste" of
Paramount to launch their products November 8, 2007
Paramount
finally reveals the special features for the launch
of Stardust
DVD the December 18 and also the Cover Art of the Dvd-edition.
Stardust
will be hitting HD DVD with plenty of supplemental features,
but no high-res audio. About the same date will also
launched the standar DVD.
Now the studio has revealed specs for the movie, which
despite a disappointing run at the box office this summer
will get the full special edition treatment in its next-gen
debut. Extras are set to include the documentary "Good
Omens: The Making of 'Stardust', a collection
of five Deleted Scenes, a Blooper Reel, and the film's
original Theatrical Trailer.
Tech specs boast 1080p video (codec TBA), but the studio
is once again eschewing high-res audio, releasing the
disc with English, French and Spanish tracks in Dolby
Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround only (1.5mbps).
Finally, the studio also has unveiled the disc's final
cover art... which in my opinion, it could have been
done by a child who have just learnt to use Photoshop...
but who is the person who has choosen this horrible
cover? Isn't good the orignal poster (American or International)?...
Really Paramount knows look for the success!
More details about "Personal
Effects" November 8, 2007
Every
new fact about the next project of Michelle
Pfeiffer and Ashton Kutcher,
Personal
Effects, is coming little by little. Now
we have a new name to add the cast: Kathy
Bates will share screen with our Michelle.
With the sign of Bates, the project wins in "weight"
and importance.
On the other hand, several sources say the project
is based on Rick Moody's
story "Mansion on the Hill,"
found in his collection, "Demonology."
"The Mansion on the Hill"
follows the adventures of narrator Andrew Wakefield
as he tries to come to terms with his sister's death
- she was killed in a car accident just before her wedding.
Coincidentally finding himself employed at a ritzy wedding-planning
business, Andrew alternates memories of the past with
clunky product-speak descriptions of his job.
And besides, other sources, such as Empire.com,
tell that there isn't word yet on who Pfeiffer will
play, but they guess that she’ll play big sis
in flashbacks, which might go some way to rendering
the 20 year gap between her and Kutcher somewhat realistic.
This "new plot" change pretty of the old one,
where Pfeiffer and Kutcher lived a love-story. I don't
know if these sources are really reliable or simply
they are wrong.
According the official site of Voltage
Films, the plot is very different to this.

people don't respect a different thought. Remember this

More facts about "Personal
Effects" plot. November 6, 2007
The
waited new project where we all will see Michelle
Pfeiffer has arrived with a bit of controversy
by many pfans who don't like this fiction-relationship
between, Pfeiffer & Kutcher. For my part, I have
to say that we —Oh! I look like Gollum!—
, PfeifferTheFace,
are glad for this new project and the choice of the
co-star. From here, all our support.
Anyway we can say the project is confirmed to be done,
and since the movie begins the filming this November
26 in Vancouver, we guess Michelle has already signed.
Besides the official website of the production company,
Voltage
Pictures —you can see the page of Personal
Effects too—, has already listed the
movie with the names of Pfeiffer-Kutcher.
About the plot, the love story-drama, tells the story
of two strangers, Linda (Michelle
Pfeiffer) and Walter (Ashton
Kutcher), who have both lost family members to
murder. Their respective court cases bring them together.
Linda has a deaf son, who’s become increasingly
troubled since his dad was murdered, but it’s
Walter who helps him out – teaching him how to
wrestle, and therefore funnelling his anger through
sport.
I think it can be an interesting starting for a movie...
let's hope...
Michelle Pfeiffer among the Top
Ten at Ultimate Female Hottie of All Time November 4, 2007
It is very typical falling
the year the publication of tons of lists and polls
to choose anything. The most of them are absurd polls
where it is looked for the vote of readers and users.
On the other hand the results are conditioned for being
in fashion in that moment or depending of the success
of the last work launched.
A week ago we reported about the last poll at Entertainment
Weekly site where it was chosen the Ultimate
Female Hottie of All Time. Well, finally we have
known the results. We can be glad because our Pfeiffer
is among the Top Ten, at the Sixth place.
For the male list the results are much weirder…
is Wentworth Millar sexier
than Paul Newman…
well, I guess it depends of the women older 40 have
voted, or if the girls younger 25 –I know they
are the most- know Paul Newman…
we could dicuss a lot about it… anyway this is
the list: #1: Wentworth
Miller 20%; #2:
Christian Bale 11%; #3:
Josh Holloway 9%; #4:
Paul Newman 8%; #5Gerard Butler 6%; #6George Clooney 6%; #7Robert Redford 4%; #8Marlon Brando 3%; #9Sean Connery 3%; #10James Dean 3%.
Maybe Michelle has got this 6th place because she is
on active again after five years away of the big-screen,
although we can’t forget that during the 80’s
and 90’s —the time she was on the top—
she was placed among the first places on all lists…
"Personal Effects" nearer
to come true November 3, 2007
If
this mornig we talked about the possible next project
for Michelle, now it seems to get stronger, according
ScreenDaily.comMichelle Pfeiffer and Ashton
Kutcher will star opposite each other in the
romance "Personal Effects",
which is set to begin filming in Vancouver on November
26.
Los Angeles-based Voltage Pictures
will commence sales at AFM after company chief Nicolas
Chartier acquired rights from Vancouver-based
Insight Film Studios.
Ashton Kutcher will play
a young man who arrives in a small town seeking vengeance
for the murder of his sister and falls for a stunning
older woman, Michelle Pfeiffer,
who bears similar psychological scars.
David Hollander is directing
the film, which Gil Netter
is producing with Insight's KirkShaw, Tadora's Christian
Arnold-Beutel and CineFilm's Tim
McGrath. At the moment we should wait to an official
confirmation, although reading this news it could look
pretty close. Let's hope...
Thanks Bond
for the news.

"Personal Effects" the
next project for Pfeiffer? November 3, 2007
It
seems that Michelle Pfeiffer
has already got a new project, the dramatic love story
"Personal Effects"
where Michelle would be join to Ashton
Kutcher (the young Demi
Moore's boyfriend).
The news appeared two days ago in Variety,
so maybe it is true. At the moment we don't know more
about it, just the company envolved is Voltage
Pictures.
The article of Variety talked about future projects
of distribution of Voltage such as the acquisition of
the international rights to the family-adventure pic
"Sky Kids" which stars Jesse James, Reiley
McClendon, Stephen Baldwin and Tom Sizemore. Among other
projects slated we could read the Michelle project.

launched November 9? November 2, 2007
Next Friday, 9th of November,
it's scheduled I
Could Never Be Your Woman is launched in
USA... at least it that the most of websites says...
But at the moment the movie hasn't got Official Site
and even you can see the same info which you could see
since two years ago at the Production Company site:
Bauer
Martinez.
What's happening with this movie? Even top sites dedicated
to movies such as BoxOfficeMojo
and ComingSoon
don't offer facts about the release...
I don't really understand about it... Let's remember
the movie hasn't gone bad in countries where it has
been already launched such as Spain or Brazil... the
movie has already got almost 5 million of dollars around
the world (amount about 5 countries).
