BroadwayWorl.com interviews Michelle.
June 28, 2007

BroadwayWorld.com publishes an interview to Michelle Pfeiffer, Dishing with Hairspray film Cast by James Sims (a freelance writer for The Hollywood Reporter) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills to discuss her role in "Hairspray." You can read the complete interview clicking-on here.

Here her remarkable quotes:

About doing Velma part: "I was afraid of falling into the pitfalls of doing a character like this, which is chewing up the scenery.  Which I think I probably failed avoiding that one. [...] I don't think I am necessarily comfortable in this area.  It's not something that comes as naturally to me as drama."

About when she read a script: "In the case of "Stardust" I really wasn't quite sure.  I loved the script and thought this is going to be interesting.  I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with the part... It was kind of the same thing with "Hairspray."  I didn't know what to do with Velma, and it scared me on the page.  I thought, she is just so awful all the time.  And that's all she is.  But I met with Adam (Shankman) and hearing his vision and hearing how he wanted to modulate it and where he wanted to go.  Yes, she's evil and bad to the bone and she has to be and that's my job.  But, we want to find the humanity there.  I was very excited to sing again.  I thought that will be fun, because I hadn't done that in a while."

About giving any acting advice to the younger cast members: "I would never ever do that, it would be so irritating.  No, and also, these not really kids, but compared to me they are sort of kids, were all so together and so grounded, honestly.  Who knows what went on when I wasn't around, but they were so professional and never late... And they had the greatest joy and spirit about the work.  It was just this infectious enthusiasm that it was so refreshing to be around.  And there were so many of them that it just hits you and energizes you"

About Nikki Blonsky and Brittany Snow: "On Nikki, What can you say?  She's a marvel.  She was born to play this part.  You would never know that she hasn't ever been on a movie set.  It was really like she had grown up on a sound stage.  So comfortable, so gracious. She has such a grace and maturity about her.  And that was the hard part... I had to be really mean a lot and the beginning scene when she comes in to audition and I turn her away, we actually shot towards the end.  So we had done all this mean, mean stuff and then I come to do that scene... and it killed me. And I fell so in love with Brittany Snow.  I just wanted to put her in my suitcase and take her home.  She is a remarkable young woman.  Again, for somebody of her age, she did kind of grow up.  She started very young, and she's an incredible person.  I adore her.

Interview with Michelle in Daily Record.
June 16, 2007

The Daily Record publishes an interview to Michelle where she talks about her life, her beauty, how she is agging, facelift, her children... etc. I guess that they are parts taken out her interview in Allure [March 2007] - although i don't sure. The article is enclosed with a mini-biography with some facts about her life and early years.

You can read some interesting quotes here, and to read the article click-on here.

Pfeiffer on the shoots-session for Allure magazine by Michael Thompson"I certainly see that I've changed. I just try not to dwell on it. Now it's easier than it was in my early 40s, I'm over that hump. Ageing happens to every single one of us. Once you accept that, it unburdens you."

About her beauty: "I look good with the right lighting. But you should see me when I'm at home, painting and there's sweat dripping down, and paint on my upper lip,"

"I learned quickly that part of how you look is how you are cast, It's damaging if you grow up being told you're beautiful, because that becomes a part of how you see yourself.

"There are definitely times when I feel beautiful but, at times, I want to crawl under a rock. And some days, I get mad. The older I get, the more gracefully I handle it but, some days, it just bugs me."

"I actually said to a woman the other day, 'Are you going to stare at me all evening?' I was upset about what was going on in the world and my defences were down, and it just came out. Anyway, it passed and I felt kind of shameful."

'I Could Never Be Your Woman' goes on the Box-Office in Spain!!.
June 11, 2007

Michelle Pfeiffer in 'I Could Never Be Your Woman'Just a month after that I Could Never Be Your Woman was launched in Spain, 5 weeks ago, the movie goes on in the Top Ten of Box-Office, during the four first weeks the movie has been among the six first-ones, now it has descended to the place #9. Now it is screened in 143 theatres, let's remember that during the past weeks it was shown in 179 ones. and its gross to date is $2,139.837.

We can really think that the movie has been a success in Spain, such I said the past week, it is a little comedy, so I guess people wanted to see Michelle Pfeiffer again on big-screen.

I hope that this success help to the movie to be launched in other countries easily. At least, we already know that it will be finally realeased in United Stated in September (according the rumors in past news).

Michelle will be the Good Housekeeping cover in July.
June 8, 2007

Yes!, Michelle Pfeiffer will be the cover of GoodHousekeeping magazine in the coming July issue. Our Juanita found the interview at the official site of the magazine (click on here to read), "it's one of the most decent and truthful, down to earth interview of Michelle in recent years" according my brother Bond, who has found the cover image on Ebay.

The picture on cover is InStyle's same shoots-collection from the past August 2006 by the photographer by Satoshi Saikusa, althought this image hadn't been seen before.

Thanks Juanita and Bond for your wonderful work!

'I Could Never Be Your Woman' out of the top#5 at the Box-Office in Spain.
June 4, 2007

Michelle Pfeiffer in 'I Could Never Be Your Woman': sixth place at Spanish Box OfficeWell, finally I Could Never Be Your Woman is no longer in the Top 5 at Spanish Box Office, it is now on the Sixth place in its fourth week on theatres. A good one if we look at the latest releases of the week: In The Land Of Women (place #4) and Blood and Chocolate (place #5), on the three first places go on Pirates of the Caribbean (place #1), Spiderman 3 (place #2 - in its fifth week) and Zodiac (place #3 - released a week after than ICNBYW)

The movie goes on 174 theatres and it has done a gross to date of $1,981.923.

I think really that those numbers are so incredibles because we must remember that ICNBYW is a little comedy.

Michelle Pfeiffer as Rosie in 'I Could Never Be Your Woman'According Dennis, one of our collaborators in German, who has contacted with Independent Films, the distribution company of I Could Never Be Your Woman in Netherlands, the movie will be launched there only on Dvd.

Although We don't know the date of release still, I guess it should be along this year.

'I Could Never Be Your Woman' third place at the Box-Office in Spain.
May 21, 2007

'I Could Never Be Your Woman' third place at the Box-Office in SpainI Could Never Be Your Woman has been placed on the third place at the Box-Office in its second week in Spain. The movie has done $427,675 (it is a 26.9% less than its first weekend) and it has been in 174 cinemas (one more than the past week).

Only Spiderman 3 (its third weekend on the first place and in 751 cinemas) and Zodiac (as release of the week on the second place in 230 cinemas) are over Michelle's movie. On the other hand below ICNBYW, there are The Hills Have Eyes 2 and Premonition, the first one released the same weekend than ICNBYW, on the fourth place and in 251 cinemas, and Sandra Bullock's one on the fith place in 247 theaters.

We can think that the movie is being a success because in spite of being in less cinemas and having not very good reviews, it is getting more gross than the rest.

'ICNBYW' shown in Cannes Film Fest & new Date release in Usa.
May 16, 2007

Advertisement to promote ICNBYW at Cannes Film FestivalAccording the latests infos, it seems that I Could Never Be Your Woman will finally released in USA the next September.

We've know this news thanks to an advertisement launched by Bauer Martinez Entertainment where the movie is presented at the Cannes Film Festival, I guess this advertisement is made for the purpose of promoting the film and so several companies from around the world buy the movie (you can read below the ad "Please visit us in Cannes at the Noga Suit 305"). Click on the image to enlarge.

Let's remember that this festival is a great showcase of movies in the world. So I think Bauer Martinez could do a pivate screening for distributors so it won't be on the official competition schedule.

On the other hand, some time ago, It was rummored that Stardust could be on the official competition and finally it won't be. The movie isn't in any list of the Festival. Cannes Film Festival is begining today and will be until the next May 26th.

Sucess of 'I Could Never Be Your Woman' in spain.
May 15, 2007

I Could Never Be Your woman in spain - Cines CallaoI Could Never Be Your Woman was released in Spain the past weekend, May 11, it has been the first country where the movie has been able to be watched and its first weekend on theatres can be considerated as a success.

The movie has done in the Box-office $584,949 taking the second place in the rank, below Spiderman 3 in its second weekend in theatres. And below ICNBYW, the third place, we can see other movie released this same week, The Hills Have Eyes 2.

Why can we considerate the release a success? well, because the movie has been released in 173 theatres, many less than the rest of films placed in the seven first places: Spiderman 3: 425 theatres, The Hills Have Eyes 2: 249, Premonition: 251, Music and Lyrics: 292... etc and besides because the movie wasn't promoted enough in newspapers and magazines which preferred to announce Hillary Swank's Freedom Writers as main release of the week.

So now let's wait that the comments of the people about the movie are good so the next weekend the rest of people want go to watch the movie... mouth to mouth... we'll be able to know it the next week!

Presonally, i can feel glad, because people in Spain love Michelle.

'I Could Never Be Your Woman' at 2007 Maui Film Festival.
May 15, 2007

I Could Never Be Your Woman is scheduled to see screened today at Hawaii's 2007 Maui Film Festival (13 - 17 June, 2007)

The Festival celebrates its eighth edition, and takes place in Wailea. Apparently unsatisfied with hosting the Hawaiian International Film Festival for a few days, Maui introduced its own festival. The festival will keep its location in the lush fantasy resort community of Wailea. A number of works from local, national and international filmmakers and production teams are screened. Also part of the program are special banquets, panel discussions and even a closing-night gala. An advance screening program known as Big Buzz takes place each Wednesday at the Castle Theater.

Into the website, you can click the following link (click-on here - Day 3 Fri June 15 to listen) and hear them talk about the movie a little, the guy said it wont be released until after Labor Day in USA, so the date of release on United States should be the upcoming September.

'Hairspray' stars-cast will be at The Oprah Winfrey Show.
May 12, 2007

It has been announced, the stars of Hairspray movie will be at The Oprah Winfrey Show next Wednesday, May 16.

The information has already been upload to Oprah's official site in "This week on the show", where it announces: "John Travolta and the cast of Hairspray. It has been 30 years since he has done something like this... now, Oprah's friend John Travolta is shaking things up in a whole new way! And the all stars-cast of Hairspray -- Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah and Christopher Walken! Plus she was working in an ice cream parlor, and now is starring on the big screen with John!" She is the wonderful Niki Blonsky. So I guess Michelle will be there!

The Oprah Winfrey Show has featured many celebrities over the years, but that´s only one side of it. There´s also Oprah´s eternal quest to better herself, and to make the viewers change themselves. Oprah has started several organizations: Oprah´s angel network, Oprah´s book club, and O Magazine. For a couple of years now, the show frequently ends with a "Remember your spirit" segment. The show is produced by Oprah´s own company, Harpo (which spells Oprah backwards). The Oprah Winfrey show is now entering its 20th year of production as a syndicated show.

The Character Posters of 'Hairspray' already revealed.
May 9, 2007

Other of the things that we were waiting with expectation were the posters dedicated to every part in Hairpray, a movie with such casting deserved it. And finally they have been launched.

The one refeerred to Michelle Pfeiffer as Velma Von Tussle, we can read with big letters "Tease It Up" and I think that they is very agree with the style of the movie.

You can see the rest of single posters here below.

Michelle Pfeiffer has already taped her Inside the Actors Studio episode.
May 9, 2007

Finally the episode dedicated to Michelle Pfeiffer at Inside The Actors Studio has been already taped.

It was placed the past Monday Eve, May 7 at 5 pm, at Michael Shimmel Center Place University

This information comes from Bradley's Blog, the blog of a boy (you should enter his blog... he's so cute!!!) who attended the event, he tells us: "I went to the taping of a TV interview with Michelle Pfeiffer at the prestigious 'Inside the Actor's Studio', then I snuck in to the question & answer session and chatted to her. Wasn't allowed to take any photos so I just took a photo of the invitation instead (the picture which you can see here, on the left)!"

According our collaborator Juanita, she's also found out that Michelle's episode will be 1 hour, not the special 2 hours. and she does not mention I Could Never Be Your Woman, just Hairspray and Stardust .

On the other hand, another boy, who also attended the tape, tells his "funny" impressions about Michelle in his blog Cajun Boy in the City (here the parts referred to Michelle):
