This (past) year thanks to the World release of Cheri, pfans have been able to delight to ourselves with every new public appearance of Michelle Pfeiffer, every event where the actress is attending is a real party for we all. Now, when 2009 has finished and we are expecting her upcoming red carpet -it will be on Tuesday, January 5 at the 21st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival where Pfeiffer will present the Desert Palm Achievement Award to Jeff Bridges-, I’d like to do a look around her public appearances along 2009:

The year started with an unexpected appearance at Screen Actors Guilt Awards (SAG) at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 25th. Michelle and David E Kelley attended the event although they didn’t walk the red carpet. They just were photographed during the gala. Pfeiffer appeared with a change of look, the actress had cut her hair in a bob, and her outfit attracted attention to many of us since it was the same one she wear during the interview on Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote Stardust in August, 2007.

The 10th of February came the expected attendance of Michelle at the 59th Berlin Film Festival, it was the World presentation of Chéri. The actress, with a curlier hairdo, dazzled in front of the photocall and posed alongside her partner in the movie, Rupert Friend, and the director Stephen Frears. Michelle wear a simple trenchcoat and later, for the press conference, she took off.

In the night, Pfeiffer walked the festival’s red carpet. I guess the most of pfans, me included, were waiting to see to Michelle in a new spectacular outfit, but it weren’t. Pfeiffer came back to repeat the same number designed by RM Roland Mouret she wear during the interview at the Late Show with David Letterman on June 16, 2007 to promote Hairspray. Anyway the actress was stunning again, and several style sites picked her as one of the “looks of the day”. Why has Michelle repeated past outfits for public events? Crisis? Who know?… But I think that just an actress with a such personality can do it, and she can. It says a lot about Michelle Pfeiffer.

Also during her stay in Berlin, the actress was promoting Chéri making interviews for the international press. And also so she did in London just later taking advantage of the European trip. Michelle appeared in both interviews wearing in black, the color was the lead in her style during this first part of the year. Pfeiffer showed a modest look as she does usually.

On April 17th, the actress started an early promotion of Cheri in the States with a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Michelle did a radiant and colorful appearance wearing a printed top designed by her friend a co-star in Stardust (2007), Sienna Miller.

In the middle of June, it was announced that Michelle Pfeiffer would be the cover of the July issue of InStyle. The actress was photographed by Mark Abrahams for an extensive article and interview wearing numbers of several designers. So on cover, the actress showed a blue Versace with a necklace by Tom Binns (magazine readers were flipping for the colorful necklace. Binns called his spectacular creation -which took two days of hand-stringing to make- “Psycho Candy“). Inside the magazine, Michelle was faithful to her favorite designer, Giorgio Armani, wearing this top and jeans (picture #2); but Pfeiffer also proved with a True Religion jaket, D&G jeans, Michael Stars cami and Irene Neuwirth necklace (picture #3); a Martin Grant wool jumpsuit and brass necklace and a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci patent and stamped leather pumps (picture #4); other of the pictures, perhaps one of my fav ones, Michelle wore an incredible Rachel Roy New York wool crêpe dress and a Irit Design sterling silver necklace with diamonds (picture #5); and at the end, a Donna Karan New York jersey dress, a Magda Berliner leather belt and a Irit Design necklaces and ring in sterling silver with diamonds (picture #6).

And also in the middle of June, Michelle arrived to New York city to do her huge promotion of Cheri in a tour across interviews for domestic and international press and to appear in several talk-shows. I remember that month like a true hurly-burly!

So the 15th of June, the actress was photographed in the door of the Four Seasons Hotel where took place the press conference, and also where she was shooted for several newspapers and magazines, such as Los Angeles Times (June 27) and The Washington Post (June 28). Michelle looked great in a simple jeans and a white t-shirt.

And on June 16th, came a nice pictures of Michelle interviewed for Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) magazine where the actress wore a beautiful black top adorned with a brooch in silver with diamonds.

That night Pfeiffer also did her appearance at the Late Show With David Letterman. The actress was photographed in her arrival to the Ed Sullivan Theater to tape the interview, and style-websites raved with her look, a ’50s-inspired sheath worn with a patent belt and matching peep-toes. Michelle was one of the “looks of the day”.

And in the same night, the actress attended the screening of Chéri alongside David E Kelly and her co-stars Rupert Friend and Kathy Bates and the movie director Stephen Frears. The event was hosted by the Cinema Society and Noilly Prat and held at the Directors Guild of America Theater in New York City. Pfeiffer tied her hairdo back and wore a simple white Valentino dress with a touch of shimmer. Most of pfans loved her look here… I, on the contrary, didn’t like…

The following day, June 17 in the morning, Pfeiffer was interviewed on Good Morning America. The actress, in her line style, showed a simple blue dress… her face looked like radiant.

And that same morning the actress did a spectacular appearance at The View on the ABC alongside Rupert Friend. Michelle wore an black sort outfit and on a very high heels to die. For many of us, it was perhaps one of the the best entrances in show she has done ever.

The 18th of June the actress attended her last talk show for the movie promotion, Michelle was interviewed at the CBS’ Early Show with Harry Smit wearing a simple beautiful purple dress.
