A walk around the Michelle Pfeiffer’s Red Carpets at the Golden Globes… Consolation for the non-nomination this year (again)

Sadly Michelle hasn’t got the hoped nomination at the Golden Globes this year… so we will have to wait for it. Now I’d like to do a walk around the attendances of Pfeiffer to the Golden Globes along these years:

Michelle Pfeiffer has walked the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards several times. The first five ones because she got a nomination for the Best Actress and the rest because she has been supporting her husband David E Kelley nominated for his TV Shows.

Michelle Pfeiffer's Golden Globes Attendances

Now I’d like to remember every one of her walks along the red carpet:

Michelle got her firt nomination on the Globes in 1988 for her performance as Angela De Marco in Married To The Mob (1988). At the moment we don’t know graphic documents about if the actress attended the event in January 1989. We can find the first pictures of Pfeiffer at the ceremony in January 1990, during the 1989 Golden Globes, when she got her first Globe (and only to date) for her performance as Susie Diamond in The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989).

Golden Globes 1989

In 1990, Michelle got her third nomination for her performance as Katya in The Russia House (1990). The actress attended the event in Jan 1991 with a outfit by Armani.

Golden Globes 1990

In January 1992, Michelle attended the Globes ‘91 with his boyfriend Fisher Stevens -the last ceremony together-, she got her fourth nomination for her performance as Frankie in Frankie & Johnny (1991).

Golden Globes 1991

In the Golden Globes 1992, the actress was one of the nominees (she got her fifth one) for her performance of Lurene Hallett in Love Field (1992). In Jan 1993, Michelle attended the event alongside (her then future husband) David E Kelley.

Golden Globes 1992

And Michelle Pfeiffer got her last nomination (the sixth one to date) for the Best Actress for her performance as Countess Olenska in The Age of Innocence (1993) at the Globes of 1993 running in January 1994. On the other hand Michelle’s husband David E Kelley was also a nominee as the creator of the TV series Picket Fences which got the nomination for the Best Television Series – Drama.

Golden Globes 1993

In January 1995, Michelle Pfeiffer walked the red carpet of the Globes in support of David E Kelley, nominee for his TV series Picket Fences which got several nominations that year.

Golden Globes 1994

Michelle Pfeiffer came back to the Globes in January 1998. The actress -alongside her husband David- did an stunning red carpet into a outfit by Armani, perhaps one of her best walks. The ceremony catched her to be the presenter of the award for the Best Motion Picture – Drama, got by Titanic. Besides Kelley got several nominations for Ally McBeal, getting the award for the Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

Golden Globes 1997

1998 was the great year for David E Kelley getting the awards for the Best Television Series – Drama for The Practice and the Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical for Ally McBeal among other awards and nominations in other categories. Michelle comes back to attend the ceremony in support her husband.

Golden Globes 1999

And these are the attendances of Michelle Pfeiffer at the Golden Globe Awars (if she has attended the ceremony more times, we don’t know since it’s been posible to get the pictures of them)

I hope you have liked this walk around Michelle Pfeiffer’s red carpets at the Golden Globes… I hope they aren’t the only ones…

I think she’s been robbed this year. I like Meryl Streep, but two nominations for her? Come on. Does the critics see any film, or make any effort to complete the nomination request? Do anybody of them know how many good performances there are out there this year for actresses?

Waiting for the Oscars, then. Just kidding ;-(

Pfeiffer Golden Globes 98 and 99, WOOOOW.
    Thanks for that consolation, Fran.

Feeling disappointed, of course. But it is not the first time she has been forgotten… we get used to… hoping that time of revenge will come… Come on Mchelle… a few others movies to be made…

  • bond said:

She also attended the show in year 2000 and 2001, but she didn’t walk the red carpet at all.:)

I think her shyness is taking its toll. So the news are not surprising at all.She doesn’t need awards. She awards us. I would be more than happy if she keeps working. Two films in a year would be a good rate, imo.

Feeling extremely disappointed – I really believed this was going to be the year for our Michelle. Her performance in Cheri was incredible, it just lacked publicity. If that movie had been promoted a bit more such as predictable and pointless movies such as The Proposal, It’s Complicated, The Blind Side, etc. she would’ve gotten more attention and possibly the nomination. I agree with Nicolas and Tachu – we are already used to it and yes, she does not need awards because she awards us. I would just love for people to see what we see in her – talent, beauty, poise, and excellence. :(

I don’t understand why she was being pushed for her performance in a comedy (a category Streep owns this season) when “Cheri” is clearly a drama and Pfeiffer gives a dramatic performance. Of course I thought some of the noms were desperate (Julia Roberts??), but an Oscar upset is still possible (remember Tilda Swinton?), and I hope both her and Jeff Bridges receive their due.

And to answer your question, Pfeiffer did not attend the GGs in 1989 when she was nominated for “Married to the Mob”. She was avoiding the press at that time because her then-scandalous affair with her married “Dangerous Liaisons” co-star John Malkovich was exposed. She did attend the Oscars though.

  • alex said:

As she said someday: don’t give me an Oscar¡¡

I’m sure that she is very happy with or without Oscar (as I myself would think)

I won’t see the Golden Globes cerimony, they snubbed the best performance of the year (as the great critic Mick La Salle is saying)

Michelle has our Oscar for being one of the best of her profession are for keep doing films¡¡¡

Michelle be happy¡¡ As we are¡¡

I really hope that in the near future Michelle will make a movie that is sucessfull with critics and audiences. Michelle could easily be landing roles that Meryl and Sandra are doing. Still cant believe that Julia was nominated for Duplicity and Michelle was ignored.

That is OMG inbelieveable, Michelles performance was AMAZING! I think shes soo undervalued in hollywood! Its not fair, its like shes not been giving the opportunity to shine! :( She is fabulous and hopefully it’ll be soon, she will make a film that will blow the worlds mind! :D All we can do is hope! :) So the wait goes on….

The Screen Actors Guild nominations are Thursday I think. Will her fellow actors do right by Pfeiffer this year? They did nominate her for “White Oleander”.

sandra and julia but no michelle….. i am in shock!!

  • Marc said:

I feel so disappointed! Michelle really deserved her nomination this year for her great performance as Léa in “Cheri”!
How is possible Sandra Bullock has two nominations this year an none for our Michelle??? Crazy…

As Benjamin said i also i don’t understand why she was considered for her performance in a comedy when “Cheri” is clearly a drama and her best scenes are as a dramatic performance!! Maybe in this case she could obtain her deserved nomination.(but well also “Inglorius Bastard” compete as a drama film, and not in comedy as i would probably consider it)

Let’s hope for the next Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations.
“Cheri” deserved to be considered an supported… what about the fantastic soundtrack and the costume disign!?

Thanks Fran for those pictures consolation. (92,93,94!!)

Joan Allen has been nominated for her performance in the TV movie of “Georgia O’Keeffe” that Michelle has been always so interested to do in Cinema’s…

Sin … hoping she is the best

Well… what can I tell now? I had put so many expectations in these awards…I feel really disappointed and perhaps a bit annoyed.

Do you know that I had prepared two different posts to upload when the awards were being announced (I watched in live on CNN through the net)?: a sort and nice post if Michelle had received her 7th nomination and this one if she hadn’t (I hoped to upload this on tomorrow instead)…

@Marc: About Joan Allen… yeah! I thought about too when a saw th whole list… really a pity.

I was so hoping she would get nominated! She has so much talent! Poor Michelle! At least Meryl was nominated I like her,but not as much as michelle :(

  • Ivan said:

    Disappointed,
but I still hope seeing Michelle walk other red carpets some day.

    @Fran
    Just what I thought!
You had two scoops. Hoping for the best but ready for the worst. You really know them, that little Golden empty-heads ;-D

Michelle Pfeiffer was on Perez Hilton’s website yesterday. It should be on the third page right now. If anyone wants to, can you link to my PS page on their comments (they don’t allow actual links I think, so ask people to type in “timw405 Michelle Pfeiffer Aging Gracefully” on google) because I’m at work and can’t access that site and some people are of course saying she’s had lots of work done.

  • Fran (author) said:

@Tim!! Don’t worry!! We know the true… do you want to waste your time on bumpkin people? Come on!!

You did a wonderful work!! I’ve added it to the Photo-analysis page! ;-))

  • Tim said:

Oh cool, thanks! And I tried putting that link up there when I got home, it didn’t work. SCREW IT. I hate it though, when people say all that crap about her, but at least MOST people out there only say nice things, so it’s not too bad. I mean compared to comments on Lindsay Lohan and all, they are quite tame with MP.

  • Tasha said:

WTH???? this was one of michelle’s best performances to date (*in my opinion) and people like meryl streep just go and get two nominations?? she will no doubt win that catagory but michelle’s performance was not comedy and if they had put her for consideration for DRAMA then she would have walked it!

  • lola said:

oh dear i was hoping she was going to get nomited this year THATS CRAZY!!! her performance in cheri was spectacular absolutly spectacular oh well i just think the people who nominate all the celebraties have got some reaal thinking to do !
