Michelle Pfeiffer in True Blood? | New updated at 10:00 a.m. GMT
I know, I know… it is simpy a buzz… but at the moment some sites in the net echoes about it, such as Celebrity Drop and Series & TV. I guess it is just a wish by the person who writes the news, Ausiello at Celebrity Drop. Anyway it is already on the board:
Alan Ball and Co. are currently talking to “name” actresses to appear in just one episode this season (and more in future ones). The character? No less than Sophie-Anne, the 500-year-old queen of the Louisiana vampires.
If everything goes according to plan, Michelle Pfeiffer could be landing that role, and man could that be awesome!
According the sources, Her Highness is as bright and witty as she is powerful and dangerous. (Isn’t that always the way?)

Well guys, I think that definitely the false-buzz finishes here: I’ve just read that Sophie Anne is supposed to be 14 to 16 years old!!, at least in the book which the series is based in. You can find at True Blood’s IMDb forums
Among pfans, I’ve read some voices opposite to see to Michelle Pfeiffer doing television. Well, let’s talks about it.
In my opinion, about whether Pfeiffer should made TV or not, well, it is a hard question. I think Michelle is too big for TV, yeah, and I prefer that she goes on doing movies, but at the moment she has got an status that she could allow herself to do some SPECIAL cameos in IMPORTANT-PRESTIGIOUS TV series (such as True Blood). I have to say that I’d like she did if it was in True Blood, I’m a fan of this show and I’d really love to see her here, at least for an episode.
Besides Television has changed, at the moment an actor who is doing television isn’t less prestigious that another who only makes movies. Television is having got prestigious shows… look at HBO who can compete with the most of movies currently… What do you prefer? a TV film in HBO (such as “Georgia O’Keefe” – which Joan Allen is doing it for this channel) or another movie like Personal Effects? Come on…
Did you remember Muppets Tonight? I loved that she was there, I think she was great. So I’d love that she did again. I think it would be at least a new chance to see her again…

She’s to big for TV??? I wouldn’t say. There are many fabulous acresses which take part in tvseries. Take a look at Glenn Close for example, great actress, in films and also in tv

The only TV I can imagine Michelle doing is something with her husband. I think Michelle would only do tv if it was one of David’s projects.

“True Blood”, the tv series, loosely follows the novels. The character descriptions as in the novel, have been ignored and re-written in the show.
So, this is most likely true, that she will be joining, or that she is in negotiations.
Just wanted to pass on that bit of info about the differences between the tv series and the book series.
I don’t think at all that doing tv would make anyone less an actor this days. Actually, i think that some tv shows are far better written and directed than many movies, tv series today are almost a new kind of cinema, as i see it. Of course it would feel strange at first, but i wouldn’t mind to see Michelle doing tv, or any other actros i like. See Holly Hunter in Saving Grace, or Mary McDonald in Battlestar Galactica, there’s plenty of excellent and successful actors who are now doing tv because sometimes it’s just better than movies.
