A bit late but the so expectated trailer of Chéri is finally revealed. You can see it at the Chéri English official site which we reported this week.
After a first look, I think it is made in more in comic tone than dramatic… listen the music…perhaps I hoped a bit more serious-dramatic sensation. Anyway, I like it.
So I hope you like it!
Thanks Roberto Fioravanti for the info

Finally the trailer! I like too but i also thought when i saw the first clip “Kiss me” from the film that this could be a great drama movie… but after seen this trailer it’s clear the film is not going to be a drama at all, but a kind of a ironic comedy movie…
I consided that the quality costumes design and the scenografy seems excellent.
Just like I told you ^^
well…very ironic very light tone
Kathy Bates looks wonderful though
OMG I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT
i adore the music, and the comic tone, and the costumes are simply wonderful
ROLL ON MAY THE 8TH
Wow…..i didn’t expect that it’s so……comedy like?
Suprised! I thought it’s a very dark sadness drama too!!!
Holy hell it looks REALLY REALLY good. I just hope people aren’t misled into thinking this is some sort of comedy. But hell, who cares, the tone of the trailer makes me really want to see it. I think it’ll make the casual audience want to see this too. This trailer is the COMPLETE opposite of the Personal Defects trailer, which had me dreading it (and then the end result was infinitely worse than I imagined). I really hope Cheri does well in theaters.
well, maybe the producers decided to change the tone of the movie after Berlin sessions and thos mixed reviews, don’t you think?
anyway, i enjoy the trailer but the story isn’t clear, so, it could be better.
OMG! is all I can say :)
I like it a lot : it looks like a ( very) good James Ivory’s movie… I’m not so surprised of the joyful tone of it, because Colette is joyful, dynamic in all aspect of her personality : all of her books, and her characters are very ironic, I think above all about Claudine, the heroin of many of her first novels…
I like it because it looks also like the Dangerous liaisons trailer ( which was very ironic too)
This trailer as the dangerous liaison has a lot of rythm… and it may seduce the public that doesn’t want to be bored …
I can’t wait 20 days before seeing the whole movie ( but I feel lucky to discover it so soon…)
All I have wanted to say about the trailer has ben said by Nicolas¡¡
Maybe telephaty¡¡¡ I love the trailer, it seems that the film will be very good and I think that I will like a lot. And now I see more possible nominations to Oscars, like cinematography (stunning¡¡ gorgeous¡¡) and make up (brilliant¡¡).
And have you seen the costumes???? Ohhh, my good¡¡¡ And what a black bag¡¡¡ Consolata Boyle, you will win an Oscar if there is justice.
And France must be the first country to release this film, it’s from justice. I think, that in France will be a huge success. Colette is maybe (Nicolas can answer me)the best french female writer. Thanks to Cheri (for me a masterpiece of impressionistic proportions, plenty of irony and joyful sensations)I’m searching for all the books written by Colette, a woman anticipated to her time. And I’m searching by otehr adaptations from novels by Colette (like Gigi by Vincente Minnelli, winner of 9 Oscars¡¡)
And a surprise for all, I have found a page with the cover art for teh score soundtrack, all the track times and sound samples of the music (all I can say is that is very, very good and very french, sometimes sad and romantic, sometimes very lively and smart)
In a future message, I will put the link¡¡
Michelle does a great british accent.
thank you guys
I really don’t know what to say
(to Alex) First of all of course there’s telepathy
(and empathy)between pfan !!!
Yes Colette is considered as one the best french female writer…but her style and her stories are they considered as old fashioned ? or still modern ? for me I think the second one… I hope a huge success for the movie… the promotion campaign has not begun here…I wait to see…
Well 20 days to wait is nothing comparing to 20 years to hope a new collaboration between Miss Pfeiffer and Mister Frears… So thank you Michelle for making what we hope for…and still surprising us ? ( I ‘m sure of it)
Some samples from the soundtrack

WOW!!! That was amazing. Everything looks so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the movie.
I loved the trailer !!! But I have been very surprised too, it doesn’t look like a drama at all and it looks very dynamic =)
I can’t wait to see it the 8th April !!! :D
The costumes and the decors look fab too, like Dennis said.
Thanks Andy for the link, I love the music too ! can’t wait to buy the soundtrack =D
YES! I am so excited to see the total film; but they DEFINATELY are trying to play up the “delightful, gay romp” of the belle epoque with this trailer. I worry that the actual result will be a bit glacial for ‘modern’ audiences… The design of the film looks GLORIOUS though. SO glad to see this!!!
I LOVE THE MUSIC…it isnt as somber and as dramtic as i imagined but i love it !!!
This looks great, michelle pfeiffer and Kathy Bates look great. It does look like a light drama with funny moments in in it.
Michelle looks totally stunning in the trailer:) Great music and costumes too.
