The official poster of Chéri —at least the French version— has been already revealed, I guess that this will be the final art of the poster for the rest of countries. Let’s remember it coincides with that teaser-poster photographed in the street and published on the net by a fan during the last Cannes Film Festival. The poster have been added to the movie Posters gallery.

Official Poster of 'Chéri' from France.

Also France —the movie will be launched there the upcoming 8th of April— has been the very first country to publish promotional stuff of the movie, you can visit it here. The Press Book cover has beean added to the gallery.

And besides the press page of Pathe Films has launched the extended clip which we had already known in the Berlin Film Festival: “Kiss me” (subtitles in French)

Movie Clip #1

So now I guess the official trailer should be coming very soon.

Thanks Bond, Dennis, Roberto Fioravanti, Andrija and Rafael for providing us these interesting details!

@Tachu: Thanks a lot for your always sweet words. They are really welcome!… and enough to go on working for you! Thanks!

    You’re welcome.

If this poster is the final one, I must say they really emphasize Michelle’s name on it. But we can’t say it to be so strange, as we have witnessed people and press reaction in Berlinale premiere.

We should remember it will be her first leading role in some time, so I hope it to be a critic and public success. I want to keep seeing Michelle in good films at big screen, so good box officce will be very important for us.

I like very much this scene clip “kiss me” that Pathe Films has already launch as first scenes of the movie before the final trailer, that we are all specting to finally see it very soon.

I like the couple of Michelle and Rupert Friend in this scene, Michelle as Lea (nounoune) looks fantastic and her role seems it will be very interesting. And i have to admit i am surprise that i really like Rupert acting as the spoiled boy Cheri in this scene, don’t you?

Also for the music, the costumes and the scenografy, i hope we will relly enjoy this movie.

  • Tachu said:

I agree with you, Marc. I want more Nounoune soon.

I love that sort of lullaby-song, and the way it ends abruptly when he says “Kiss me”. Subtle and cool.

je suis ravi de découvrir le film dès le 8 avril : je suis certain que le public français accueillera le film chaleureusement, et la promotion du film tournera sans doute aussi beaucoup autour de Colette et de l’adaptation du film.

You can count on me Fran to transmit all the french articles I will find in the press about Chéri and Michelle …

That would be so nice from you. We’ll wait for your news, Nicolas.

Tachu, do you like the scores of the films, too? I am waiting to hear the score by Alexander Desplat for this film¡ He is one of the most talented composers of our time.

  • alex said:

And a question to all. [SPOILER] For me, it seems like Michelle has make up added to her face in the later scenes of the film (to add more wrinkles to her face for the last scenes of the film). It is that true? In the scenes when she is supposed to be more young, that wrinkles are not on her face. Thanks, people

  • Tachu said:

POSSIBLE SPOILER. I suppose she had make up added to show the years passed. But I heard it was the way they lighted her to make she looks younger when she is happy in love with Cheri.

  • Tachu said:

Yes, I think Desplat is a great film composer. I’m waiting to hear the complete score. I’ve already read that it is marvelous, but some say that it’s a bit busy, bully…

  • alex said:

Well, some people says that the best score is the score that doesn’t shines by her own and it’s at “sotto-voce” with the film (they called this unobtrusive score).

But I don’t agree with that statement. Each film needs a different type of score or music. I heard that the orchestra for Cheri is 70 musicians, focused on strings and, in some parts, a trio for viola and two violins.

But I don’t know if it has thematic development for the different characters (but it’s probably that it has) or phsicological.

  • Tachu said:

Yes, I’ve read it in the production notes too, but I don’t know about the thematic development… Maybe Dennis could clarify something, but I’m not sure if he can remember the score so well. After all he has only seen the film once, and he was with Michelle in the premiere… I wouldn’t be able to pay attention to the ost in the same circunstances…

I just love this poster…but Why the blue background instead of white one ( more natural to me) ?
